Neighborhood Rules

There are city ordinances in place that govern many aspects of residing in Nashua. Below are just a few health, safety or nuisance violations to avoid so you can stay out of trouble with your neighbors as well as the City.

LAWN CARE

Please keep your lawn tidy and timely mowed.

REMODELING

Many home improvement projects require a permit from the City for construction. From installing a fence to putting on a new roof, you must submit a building permit before starting a project.

SNOW REMOVAL

Residents must keep their sidewalks clear of snow and ice accumulation. If a property owner does not completely remove snow or ice within 24 hours from the end of precipitation, the city may do so and assess the costs against the property owner. It is also helpful to remove snow from around your mailbox and any fire hydrants on your street. Be aware that any measurable snowfall automatically restricts parking on City streets until the street has been cleared following the end of a snowfall.
